Most chest rigs decide for you how many magazines you carry and where. This one does not. The compartments are Velcro lined for Viper’s VX sleeve range, so a rifle shooter, a pistol-heavy skirmisher and someone running an SMG can all set the same rig up differently and change it again before the next game.
Everything that takes load runs on quick-release buckles, with buckle tidies so the loose tails are not flapping about. Sizing adjusts at the sides and the shoulders and it is built as one size to fit most, which in practice means it goes over a jacket in winter and a t-shirt in July without a different rig for each.
Viper build it in 700D Polytech, and the lid system comes off entirely if you would rather run the compartments open. There are Velcro ID panels front and rear, and a reverse Velcro panel underneath for hanging a dump pouch or a drop leg off the bottom.

Good to know before you buy
The sleeves are the point, and they are sold separately. The rig arrives as the rig. What goes in the front is up to you — triple rifle, quad SMG, double pistol and the lazer wing panels all share the same mounting, so look through our pouches and pick the layout you actually run.
One size, but check the adjustment range. Viper rate it as one size fits most and it adjusts at both the shoulders and the sides. Worth setting it up over the layers you will actually wear rather than over a bare shirt in the shop.
It is part of the Buckle Up family. Viper build a carrier, a ready rig, a mag rig, a sling pack and a charger pack on the same buckle standard, so pieces interchange. Ask us what we hold if you are building the whole thing out.
Frequently asked questions
What is a VX sleeve?
A sleeve is the pouch insert. Instead of stitched-on pouches, the rig has Velcro-lined compartments and you drop in the sleeve that suits the magazine you carry. Swapping layout is a thirty-second job rather than a new rig.
Does it come with any sleeves?
No. You get the rig itself, and the sleeves are bought to suit how you play. That is the reason to choose this over a fixed-pouch rig in the first place.
Will it go over a plate carrier?
It is designed as a standalone chest rig with its own shoulder and side adjustment rather than as a placard for a carrier. If you specifically want to run it on a carrier, tell us which carrier and we will tell you whether it will work before you buy.
Can I take the lid off?
Yes. The Velcro lid system is removable, so you can run the compartments open if you prefer faster access over keeping the weather out.
