Solar on an optic sounds like a gimmick until you count how many game days end with somebody borrowing a coin cell. The panel on top does not power the sight by itself; it takes over whatever share of the load the ambient light will support, and the Auto D-TEC circuit makes that decision continuously without a mode button. The headline figures are 50,000 hours on the cell alone and 150,000 hours with the panel helping — which in practice means the battery stops being a thing you think about.
Everything else is conventional in the good sense. The dot is 2 MOA, small enough to aim with rather than paint over the target, and there are ten brightness steps with the bottom two set low enough for night vision. Motion activation wakes it when the rifle moves and a ten-minute timer puts it back to sleep. Turrets click in half-minute increments through 100 MOA of travel in each direction, which is generous for a sight at this height.
Choosing between the two finishes is cosmetic and nothing else — identical glass, identical internals, identical mount. Black disappears on a black receiver; tan is the one to take if your rifle is already coyote or your kit leans desert, because a black block on a tan upper is the detail that makes a build look assembled rather than planned. The sight weighs 4.47oz and measures 2.60in long.

Good to know
Does it work indoors or at night? Yes. With no light on the panel the sight simply runs off the CR2032 as any other reflex sight would, and the 50,000-hour figure is the one that applies.
Will it hold zero on a recoiling airsoft rifle? It is specified for centrefire rifle use, so a gas or HPA platform is well inside what the mount was designed to absorb. Torque the mount screws properly and it will stay where you put it.
Can I run a magnifier behind it? The sight is parallax free and unmagnified, so a flip-to-side magnifier works the way it would behind any reflex sight, provided your rail has the length for both.
