Gas blowback rifles have a problem that AEGs largely do not. Every time the bolt cycles, a substantial mass of steel travels back and forward at speed, and the BB sitting in the hop-up chamber takes part of that impact. The result is over-chambering - the BB gets pushed slightly past the optimal point on the contact patch, and it does so by a different amount on each shot.
That is why a GBBR can group beautifully one string and throw a flyer the next, with nothing changed. It is not your hop setting; it is the BB not sitting in the same place twice.
The Crimson is built around solving exactly that. A deliberately thick, durable initial opening resists the cycling mass pressing the BB too far in, so the BB is presented to the contact patch consistently. Behind it sits a pronounced two-point contact pressure patch and an alignment fin that keeps the bucking seated square in the chamber rather than rotating out of position.
The material choice matters too. Rather than the silicone most buckings use, Waldo Dynamics chose NBR - a nitrile rubber that is considerably more durable, so the bucking holds its shape and its performance far longer under the pounding a gas rifle gives it.
It was developed over more than a year in collaboration with Bristol Based Airsoft and Cheffington of Firesupport UK, working through prototypes, materials and contact patch shapes. At 65 degrees it is a medium-firm hardness that suits the mid-to-heavy BB weights most GBBR shooters run.

Good to know before you buy
At 65 degrees this is a medium-firm bucking, which suits mid-to-heavy BBs and typical GBBR power levels. Very light BBs or an unusually low-powered setup may prefer something softer. It is a VSR-spec bucking, so it also fits sniper chambers built to that standard - not only the gas rifles in the list. Fitting means stripping the hop chamber, and you should expect to re-tune your hop from scratch afterwards rather than carrying over an old setting.

What is over-chambering?
On a gas blowback rifle the bolt carrier cycles with real force, and that pushes the BB slightly further into the hop rubber than it should sit - by a different amount each shot. Will it fit my rifle?
It has been tested across VFC AR, AK, MP5, G36, M249 and PPSH platforms, Tokyo Marui MWS and GBB pistols, and APFG MCX, MPX and XM7. It is GBB/VSR spec, so it fits chambers built to that standard - ask us if your platform is not listed.
Why NBR rather than silicone?
NBR nitrile rubber is significantly more durable than the silicone most buckings use. In a gas rifle, where the bucking takes repeated impact from the cycling mass, that longevity is the point.
Is 65 degrees the right hardness for me?
It is medium-firm, and suits the mid-to-heavy BB weights most GBBR shooters use. If you run very light BBs or a notably low-powered setup, a softer bucking may serve you better.
Does it fit sniper rifles?
It is VSR spec as well as GBB spec, so it will fit VSR-standard chambers. Most people buy it for gas rifles, but the fitment is there.
Will it fix my flyers on its own?
It addresses one specific and common cause of inconsistency. If your flyers come from a worn nozzle, a poor barrel or inconsistent gas, those still need sorting - but over-chambering is the one people most often miss.
