The Hi-Capa platform is one of the most versatile pistol designs in airsoft — modular, accurate, and capable of running through a huge range of gas and BB combinations. The recoil spring is the part that controls how the platform feels under fire, and matching the spring strength to your specific setup makes a meaningful difference to both performance and reliability.
120% (£9.99) is the entry-level upgrade from stock. Modest increase in tension over the factory spring — better cycle response in temperate conditions, suitable for green gas use in mild weather, and the gentlest option if you've not run an uprated spring before. 130% (£12.00) is the workhorse for most skirmishing players: noticeably crisper cycling, handles propane or HPA setups cleanly, and stays reliable across a wider temperature range. 140% (£12.00) is the high-output option for HPA users, propane-rich gas setups, or anyone running heavier slides where the extra tension is needed to return the slide consistently to battery.
Higher tension doesn't automatically mean better. Running too strong a recoil spring on a stock-pressure green gas setup in cold weather can cause short-stroking — the slide returns faster than the next round can feed, leading to misfires and feeding issues. Match the spring to the gas and the climate: heavier gas pressure and warmer weather both support higher spring strengths.
