The MTW-308 isn't an MTW M4 with longer barrels — it's a separate platform with its own .308-style magwell that's significantly larger than the M4/M16 mag spec. Standard M4 AEG mags won't seat properly. This is the Wolverine-spec spare magazine for that exact magwell, engineered to drop in cleanly, lock positively, and release free on the mag catch.
140 rounds is the right capacity for a DMR or marksman build. High enough to avoid mid-engagement reloads at sniper-style cadence, low enough that the mag stays light and balanced on a rig. The magazine spring is tuned to match the higher feed rates the INFERNO engine can run if you switch from DMR cadence to mid-range bursts.
Empty mag detection is the practical realism feature here. When the mag empties, the trigger board (on the MTW-308's standard FCU and on the upgraded BLINC) detects the empty state and locks the trigger to dead. You feel the bolt hold open on a real .308 rifle; this gives you the airsoft equivalent. For milsim players running a marksman role this is the difference between knowing your ammo state and burning bursts on an empty mag.
