Everything upstream of the hop unit is metal and behaves predictably. The bucking and nub are rubber and polymer, and they are the only components in the whole air path that change character as they age. A bucking that has gone hard, taken a set from being left wound on, or picked up a nick from a chipped BB will scatter groups no amount of pressure tuning can pull back in.
Because a Gen12 shotgun build cycles multiple projectiles per shot, its hop parts see a working life quite unlike a rifle's. Replacing them is routine service rather than a repair, and it is the cheapest meaningful accuracy work available on the platform.
These are the genuine Wolverine components. The bucking carries part number MTW-H-310 and the nub is MTW-M-312, supplied together so the pair are correctly matched.

Frequently asked questions
How often should these be changed? There is no fixed interval. Change them when groups open up, when the hop stops holding a setting, or when the bucking looks glazed or marked on inspection.
Can I fit a third-party bucking instead? Some builders do, but the Gen12 hop geometry is specific and aftermarket parts are not always cut for it. The factory set is the safe choice.
Do I need to re-zero afterwards? Expect to reset your hop from scratch. A new bucking will not sit where the old worn one did.
