Wolverine Filtered Grip Connect — catches what the compressor missed. An inline filter built into the grip-end connector, rather than hung off the line.

Air out of a dive shop or a garage compressor is rarely as clean as anyone claims. Oil mist, water and fine particulate all travel down the line, and every one of them shortens the life of the seals inside an HPA engine. A filter is cheap insurance against a failure that is not cheap at all.

What makes this version worth having over a generic inline filter is where it sits. Building the filtration into the grip connector means there is no extra body dangling in the line to snag, and no additional joint to leak at.

It is most worth fitting if you fill from a shared bottle at a site rather than from your own known-clean source. That is exactly the situation where contamination arrives without warning.

Is this the same as the grip line with integrated filter? They are related but separate parts. The grip line is the line itself; this is the connector with filtration built in.

How often does the element need changing? Depends entirely on your air source. Inspect it at the same interval as your engine o-rings and change it when it discolours.

Do I still need a filter at the regulator? Belt and braces never hurt, but for most players filtering once, close to the engine, is the useful place to do it.
