Not everything worth mounting has an M-LOK foot. Older lights, legacy vertical grips, RIS-mount lasers and a great deal of surplus kit still bolt to picatinny and nothing else, and adapters add bulk and a point of failure every time.
The Quad Rail solves that by giving you continuous picatinny top, bottom and both sides. It is heavier than the M-LOK rails and it is less kind to a bare hand, but for an early-2000s milsim loadout it is the correct-looking and correct-functioning part.
It is also the pragmatic choice for anyone who already owns a drawer of RIS accessories and would rather spend the money on the rail than on replacing all of them.
