Wolverine M249 Gen 2 Premium FCU — HPA Conversion Electronics

Support weapons are the awkward child of HPA conversion. The gearbox sits in an unusual place, the feed comes from a box rather than a stick, and most control units simply have no provision for the extra wiring a box mag demands. Wolverine's answer is to build the M249 variant of the Gen 2 Premium unit with that lead already fitted, so the conversion goes together without splicing.

Everything that makes the Premium unit worth having carries across. Programming is done through an on-board LED menu using buttons rather than a laptop, a dip switch bank or a phone, which matters when you are crouched behind a bipod at a game and want to drop two rounds per second off the rate of fire.

Seven fire states are user-definable, so a single trigger can be configured for the way you actually play rather than the way the manufacturer assumed. Dwell, rate of fire and burst behaviour are all adjustable independently, and short-detection watches for a wiring fault before it damages anything expensive.

Is this different electronics from the standard Premium FCU? The control unit itself is the same Gen 2 Premium. What differs is the harness — the M249 build includes the extra lead for a box magazine, which the standard package does not.

Can I fit it to a support weapon that isn't an M249? It depends entirely on your gearbox and feed arrangement. Send us the make and model before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

Does it need a separate battery? Yes. Like every Wolverine control unit it runs from a small LiPo, separate from any tank or regulator.
