On an HPA rifle the charging handle does not load anything, but it is still how you check a chamber, clear a jam and go through a drill without thinking about it. That is worth keeping working, particularly on a rifle being used for milsim where the manual of arms is half the point.
It also takes more abuse than most people credit. Latches get snapped in doorways, the shaft gets bent when a rifle is dragged out of a bag by it, and the retaining detent wears until the handle rattles forward on its own.
Cheap enough to keep as a spare, and a five-minute swap with the upper open.

Frequently asked questions
Does pulling it do anything on an HPA rifle? It opens the port so you can look inside. There is no bolt to cycle and no round to eject.
Will an AR-15 aftermarket handle fit? Do not assume so. The MTW receiver is AR-shaped but not universally AR-dimensioned — ask first.
Mine falls forward on its own. Why? Usually a worn detent rather than a worn handle. Worth checking before you replace the whole thing.
