The dust cover does very little on an airsoft rifle and matters a lot anyway. It is most of what makes an MTW look like an AR rather than a training aid, and it keeps grit out of the port when the rifle is slung muzzle-down through a hedge.
It is also one of the easiest parts on the whole platform to lose. The spring that holds it shut is what launches it across a car park when the retaining pin works loose, and nobody has ever found one afterwards.
Polymer rather than metal is deliberate — it flexes rather than bending, and it costs a fraction of what a machined cover would.

Frequently asked questions
Does it come with the pin and spring? It is supplied as the cover assembly. Check what is left in your receiver before ordering if yours departed at speed.
Will it fit the MTW-308 or Gen-12? Those receivers are dimensionally different. Ask before ordering if you are not on an M4-pattern MTW.
Is there a metal version? Not from Wolverine for this platform. Polymer is the factory fitment.
