The grip line is the short section of tubing between the Wolverine engine body and the exit point at the base of the pistol grip — it's the internal air delivery path from the engine to the external remote line connection. On earlier Wolverine engines this was a plain macro tube; on current-generation engines Wolverine replaced it with the Integrated Filter Line, which incorporates a filter directly in the line to catch debris and particulates before they reach the engine's solenoid and air seals.
Keeping this filter clean is important for engine performance and longevity. Debris ingress through the line is one of the more common causes of solenoid wear and seal degradation in HPA engines — a consequence of the high cycle rate and the fact that HPA systems create small amounts of condensation moisture that can carry contamination toward precision components. The integrated filter addresses this with minimal added complexity — it's simply built into the line itself.
This replacement unit uses Fre-Thane 95A-158 Metric Poly Tubing — a specific grade of polyurethane tubing selected by Wolverine for its balance of flexibility, pressure retention, and dimensional consistency. The tubing is 6mm OD × 4mm ID × 10 inches in length. The barbed fitting at the engine end connects securely and can be secured with a hose clamp or cable tie for additional retention if desired. Route away from sharp bends and heat sources for maximum longevity.

Installation Notes
Push the tubing firmly onto the barbed fitting until it fully seats. A hose clamp or cable tie can be used for additional security if desired. Route the line to avoid sharp bends and keep it away from heat sources inside the receiver. Inspect the integrated filter periodically — if the filter shows visible contamination or the line shows signs of kinking or surface cracking, replace the line. When the line is replaced, ensure the new line fully seats on the barbed fitting before pressurising the system.
