4UANTUM Magnus Pro MCX - a one-piece billet TDC chamber that fixes the APFG MCX nozzle-wear problem while it is at it.

TDC - top dead centre - adjustment is the difference between a hop that pushes the BB straight up and one that pushes it slightly off to one side. On a stock chamber you tune hop and hope the contact point is centred. With true TDC you set that contact point deliberately, and your groups stop drifting left or right at range.

The Magnus Pro is machined from a single billet of 6061 aluminium as a one-piece housing, with 4UANTUM's self-centering tri-lug design holding the barrel concentric. On most platforms that rigidity is simply a nice-to-have. On the APFG MCX it matters considerably more, because the hop chamber forms part of the barrel-mounting interface - so a stronger, more precisely machined chamber stiffens the entire front end rather than just the hop.

It also corrects a genuine weakness in the platform. The Magnus Pro's revised cycling geometry interfaces with the bolt carrier rather than the nozzle, so the nozzle stops taking repeated impact every cycle. If you have run an APFG MCX hard and watched the nozzle wear, that is the fix.

Day to day, the adjustment wheel sits where you can reach it through the handguard openings, so hop changes are a quick turn between engagements rather than a strip-down with tools.

Compatibility - read before ordering

Specification Detail
Fits APFG MCX GBB series - Rattler, Legacy, SPEAR LT, Rattler LT, RSAR, SURG and MCX HUNTER
Also fits BPW MCX GBB series, where built on the APFG MCX GBB system
Does NOT fit APFG XM7 (SPEAR) GBB - different hop-up design
Does NOT fit APFG MPX GBB series - different hop-up design
Does NOT fit MCX GBB rifles from other brands - APFG platform only
Does NOT fit Any non-MCX GBB model
Inner barrels Japanese-specification precision inner barrels, including PDI, KM and Laylax, are NOT applicable without additional machining

The naming catches people out. The SPEAR LT is an MCX-platform rifle and is compatible. The XM7, also called the SPEAR, is a different rifle with a different hop design and is not. Check which you actually own before ordering.

Good to know before you buy

Check your exact model against the compatibility table above - the MCX family has several rifles with different hop designs, and the SPEAR naming in particular is easy to get wrong. If you are running a Japanese-specification inner barrel such as PDI, KM or Laylax, it will not fit without additional machining, so budget for a compatible barrel too. Fitting means stripping the front end, and it is worth re-tuning hop from scratch afterwards rather than trying to carry over an old setting.

Frequently asked questions

What does TDC adjustment actually give me?
It lets you set where the bucking contacts the BB, not just how hard. A hop that is slightly off-centre pushes the BB sideways as well as up, which is what causes groups to drift left or right at distance. TDC removes that.

Will it fit my APFG SPEAR?
That depends which SPEAR. The MCX SPEAR LT is compatible. The XM7, also sold as the SPEAR, is not - it uses a different hop-up design. Send us the exact model if you are unsure.

Will it fit an MCX from another brand?
No. It is machined for the APFG MCX platform specifically, and MCX replicas from other manufacturers use different internal dimensions.

Can I keep my Laylax inner barrel?
No. Japanese-specification precision barrels including PDI, KM and Laylax use different slot dimensions and are not applicable without additional machining.

How does it stop nozzle damage?
The chamber is designed so the cycling action bears against the bolt carrier rather than the nozzle. On a stock APFG MCX the nozzle absorbs that impact every shot, which wears it over time.

Do I need tools to adjust the hop?
No. The adjustment wheel is reachable through the handguard openings, so you can make incremental changes in the field without disassembly.

Fitting: this replaces the hop chamber, which on the APFG MCX also forms part of the barrel mount - so it is a front-end strip rather than a quick swap. We fit and tune these in the workshop through the tech service if you would rather not.
💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: pair it with a 4UANTUM Friction Pro GBB bucking to get the most from the TDC adjustment, or see our hop-up range. Unsure of your model? message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the fit.
