The SE exists to make lens swapping trivial. DYE’s patented SLS system lets you lift the lens out and drop another one in without tools and without fighting the frame, which turns tint from something you commit to at the start of a day into something you change between games.
The shell is solid with the visor moulded in rather than bolted on, so there is no peak to catch a hit and shift. Ear covers are ported, which is the compromise that keeps you able to hear a call without leaving your ears open, and vent slots through the body keep air moving and your voice audible.
Be clear on which lens you are buying, because it changes what this mask is for. This is the single-lens SE, not the thermal. A single pane is lighter on the wallet and perfectly good for cooler, drier conditions and for a spare in the bag, but it will mist sooner than a dual-pane thermal when you are working hard in the damp.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a thermal lens?
No — this is the single-pane version. DYE do build the SE with a thermal lens as a separate product; if that is what you want, say so and we will look at sourcing it rather than sell you this one by accident.
Who is this mask for?
Three people: someone buying their first mask who wants a known brand without the i-series money, a player who wants a spare in the bag, and a site buying in numbers for rental. It is a lot of goggle for what it is.
What lenses fit it?
SLS lenses, which are specific to this mask and do not interchange with the i4, i5 or i3. We do not currently list them — tell us what tint you want and we will see what we can get.
How does it compare with the i4?
The DYE i4 is a lighter, lower-profile mask with a dual-pane thermal lens and ASTM certification, and sits in a different bracket entirely. The SE is the sensible, solid option rather than the competition one.
Can I wear it with a helmet?
DYE do not publish helmet compatibility for the SE, so we will not claim it. The fixed visor sits high, which is usually the issue — try it with your lid before committing if you can.
