No PTT, no transmit. An Earmor headset listens on its own. The M51 is what turns it into a radio, and this one carries the Kenwood two-pin plug.

Every Earmor comms headset terminates in a Nexus TP-120 connector to the NATO standard, and every radio terminates in whatever its manufacturer decided. The PTT is the piece in between. Earmor describe the M51 as suitable with all NATO-standard military headsets carrying a TP-120 plug, so the decision is not which headset you own — it is which radio.

This one carries the Kenwood two-pin plug, the single most common pattern on UK airsoft fields because it is what Baofeng, Kenwood and most of the budget handhelds use.

The one thing to understand before ordering: Earmor specify the M51 as the version without a finger button. The body carries a mini-jack port so an M50 remote finger button can be added, but it is not in the box. If you want one supplied, the M52 is the model that includes it.

Construction is lightweight polymer with a steel clip for attaching to clothing or a belt.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with a Baofeng? Baofeng handhelds use the Kenwood two-pin pattern, which is this plug. Check your specific model's connector before ordering — the pattern is near-universal in that range but we will not promise it for a radio we cannot see.

Is it compatible with Z-Tactical gear? No. Earmor state their products are not compatible with Z-Tactical, and that is a wiring difference rather than a plug shape.

What is the difference between this and the M52? The finger button, and that is the only difference Earmor state. The M51 is specified without one; the M52 comes with an M50 in the box.

Are other plug patterns made? Earmor publish one selectable plug list across their whole PTT range: Kenwood, ICOM, Midland, Yaesu, TopCom, Motorola two-way, Motorola Talkabout, an auxiliary 3.5 mm, plus MIL PRC, Hytera PD780 and Motorola MTP850 as custom orders. Our supply route carries the Kenwood version.

⚠ Match the radio, not the headset. Nearly every comms failure on a UK site is the wrong plug pattern on the PTT. Confirm your handheld's connector first, because a PTT that does not fit is not a fault, it is the wrong part.
