GATE PULSAR S HPA Engine — Single Solenoid, with TITAN II or ASTER II Bluetooth

The PULSAR S was the engine that put GATE's optical trigger technology inside an HPA system for the first time. Most HPA engines give you a pneumatic valve and a basic board for dwell and rate of fire. The PULSAR S drops a full TITAN II or ASTER II Bluetooth unit into the engine itself, so the trigger reads position optically rather than through a switch, and everything is configurable from your phone.

In practice that means a trigger you can genuinely tune. Fifty levels of sensitivity inside the first millimetre of travel lets you set a hair trigger that breaks almost on contact, or deliberately lengthen it for milsim. Binary mode fires on press and release. Burst is configurable from two to nine rounds. Rate of fire runs from 1 to 100 RPS, all adjustable live through the GCS app without opening the gun.

It is also remarkably small — 88mm long and 75g, the smallest single-solenoid HPA engine made. It runs open bolt at 60 to 140 PSI, delivering 200 to 550 FPS depending on how you set it, and uses roughly 1 PSI per shot from a 48ci bottle at 90 PSI.

Good to know before you buy

The PULSAR S is the more economical route into GATE HPA, and it rewards a well-built gun: because it runs open bolt with a conventional nozzle, it wants the gearbox axially aligned properly to shoot its best. If your build is a known-good V2, that is not an issue. If it is an older or looser gearbox, the closed-bolt PULSAR D is far more forgiving. Fitting an HPA engine is not a beginner job — we fit and configure these in our workshop through the HPA tech service.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the PULSAR S and the PULSAR D?
The S is single-solenoid and open bolt: lighter, smaller, faster (up to 100 RPS) and cheaper. The D is dual-solenoid and closed bolt: heavier and capped at 40 RPS, but more accurate, more gas-efficient and much less sensitive to how well your gearbox is aligned. GATE themselves say the S is the more economical choice if you can align the gearbox correctly.

TITAN II or ASTER II?
Both give you Bluetooth GCS control and the optical trigger. TITAN II is the fuller-featured unit; ASTER II is the more streamlined option. If you are unsure, ask us.

Rear or front wired?
Rear wired is the usual choice and suits most standard builds. Front wired suits builds running the battery in the stock or rear-loaded electronics.

Will it fit my gun?
It is a V2 gearbox engine, which covers most M4-pattern AEGs. Gearboxes with a factory electronic trigger unit, V3 platforms and offset-nozzle designs need checking first — message us the make and model and we will confirm free of charge.

What else do I need?
An HPA tank, a secondary regulator and a line, plus a 5–8.4V battery for the FCU. None are included with the engine.

Can you fit it for me?
