Hardness is not about durability, it is about how far the lip deforms under a given pressure. Push a soft bucking with a strong spring and the lip folds too far, the BB double-feeds spin and the shot flyers. The three options here start at 70 degree and go up, so the lip stays controlled at higher velocity.
The contact geometry is the same family as the rest of the Maple Leaf gas and VSR line: a narrowed entrance to seal against the BB, a shaped pressure point rather than a flat pad, and a steel C-clip that stops the lip relaxing as it warms.
The listed fitment covers KJ, WE and Tokyo Marui sidearms, gas rifles from WE, and cocking rifles built on the VSR-10 pattern. As with everything else in the pressure-point family, it expects an open-type hop window in the inner barrel rather than a bridged one.

Good to know before you buy
If you are under about 360 FPS, this is the wrong product. The softest option here is 70 degree, which the manufacturer puts at 360 FPS and up. A stock-velocity gas pistol wants something softer — the rest of the buckings we carry are in hop up units and hop rubbers.
Harder buckings need more tensioner pressure, not less. Expect to wind the nub or lever in further than you did on a soft bucking before the hop comes on. If you run out of adjustment the bucking is too hard for the setup.
Heavier BBs pair well with the harder options. A 0.40g and up BB carries more energy into the contact patch, and a stiff lip holds its shape against that where a soft one would collapse. Spare parts for the platform sit in spare and upgrade parts.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Super and the Transformers buckings?
They are different contact-patch geometries from the same maker, aimed at the same platforms. The Super is the straightforward high-performance option across the hard end of the range; the Transformers buckings vary the patch shape to chase particular behaviour. Both use the same C-clip seal.
Is 80 degree too hard for a standard VSR?
For an unupgraded VSR, usually yes. 80 degree is aimed at 490 FPS and above, which is well past a stock gun. Fit a hardness that matches the velocity you actually chronograph at, not the one you plan to reach later.
Do I need a particular inner barrel?
It needs an open-type hop window rather than a bridged one, which is what Marui pistol barrels and most barrels copied from that pattern use. The geometry relies on the window being clear.
How long does one last?
That depends on round count, velocity and how clean your BBs are, so there is no honest single figure. Treat it as a consumable, inspect the lip when you strip the hop unit, and replace it once you see nicks or a flat spot.
