Nuprol NPOINT RDS Red Dot Sight — Black

A red dot does one thing better than any other sight: it lets you shoot with both eyes open. Peripheral vision stays intact, you see the player coming in from the left, and the dot goes where you look rather than asking you to line up two sights and a target. In close quarters and in fast woodland play that is worth more than magnification.

This is the entry point to Nuprol’s sight range and it is deliberately plain. Green or red on a selector, three brightness settings, turrets for windage and elevation, and nothing else to learn. At 215 g it is the lightest sight Nuprol publish a weight for.

Good to know before you buy

Three brightness settings is the whole adjustment range. Enough for a dark building, a bright field and the middle, which is what most players actually switch between.

Switch it off when you unload. A dot left running in a kit bag is the single most common reason a sight appears dead on a Sunday morning.

Green reads against leaf cover, red against sky and pale walls. Having the selector is the point — change it when the background changes, not when you buy it.

The glass points down range at everything being shot at you. If you play indoors, put a killflash or a mesh guard over the front before the first game rather than after.

Red dot or magnified optic?
Red dot for close quarters and fast play, magnified for woodland at distance. If you play both, a dot with a flip-to-side magnifier behind it is the flexible answer.

What battery does it take?
Nuprol do not publish the cell for this one. Ask us and we will open one in the shop rather than print a guess.

Will it fit my rail?
Nuprol do not state the mount in their own data for this sight either. Tell us what rail you are running and we will check it against a unit before you order.

How does it compare with the Point E1?
The E1 publishes a 1x magnification figure, a bright and dim selector, and both a short and a tall mount in the box. This one is simpler and lighter at 215 g.

Is it any good for a pistol?
A dot on a sidearm works well, but check the sight clears your holster before you commit to it.
