AEG’s

AEGs are the workhorse of UK airsoft — battery-powered, gearbox-driven, and the platform every UK weekend site is built around.

An AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) fires a BB by spinning up a motor, compressing a spring against a piston via gear train, and releasing that spring on each trigger pull. The whole assembly lives inside a metal gearbox — V2 for M4-pattern rifles, V3 for AK-pattern, V6 for Thompson-style, and a handful of proprietary versions for specific platforms. Power comes from a rechargeable battery, usually LiPo or NiMH, that fits inside the rifle's stock, handguard, or buffer tube.

Why AEG dominates UK airsoft: cost of entry is low, magazine capacities are high (typically 120 mid-cap, 300+ hi-cap), batteries last full game days on a single charge, and the aftermarket is deeper than any other platform — every component on an AEG is replaceable and upgradable. The trade-off is trigger response (mechanical gear cycle adds a fraction of a second of lag compared to HPA) and the eventual wear cycle on internals.

Browse by platform: M4 Style (the AR-15 family — the most aftermarket support and most common platform), AK Style (the Eastern Bloc family — robust and characterful), DMR (longer barrel, semi-only roles), L85 Style (the British service rifle), Support Weapons (LMG and SAW platforms), and SMG (MP5, MP7, Kriss Vector compacts). Every AEG needs a battery and charger — sold separately unless the listing notes otherwise.

💡 Titan Forge tip: The AEG Starter Bundle pairs any rifle on this page with a charger, battery, eye pro, and BBs at a discounted rate — saves four separate ordering decisions and gets you site-ready in one delivery.
