DYE i3 Pro — the mask that defined mid-2000s paintball, rebuilt rather than reimagined. A rigid upper shell over a soft dual-density lower, a dual-pane thermal lens and DYE’s Scream venting.

DYE first built the i3 in 2003 as the successor to the Invision, and it went on to set the look of professional paintball for most of a decade. It left production without leaving the field — players kept hunting for them second-hand, which is the demand DYE say brought this one back.

The frame is where the character lives. DYE call it Tri-Mold Soft Flex: a firm upper structure holds the shape and takes the hit, while the lower half of the mask is a softer dual-density moulding that gives as you move and talk. You get full facial coverage without the rigidity that usually comes with it.

Behind the lens, the Scream venting system pulls heat and moisture out through multiple directions rather than one exhaust path, and it is the same set of ports that lets your voice carry — which matters more in a treeline than on a speedball field.

⚠ Old i3 lenses do not fit this goggle. DYE state that lenses from earlier i3 generations should not be reused in the i3 Pro — they no longer meet current safety standards and installing one is a real risk. Buy an i3 Pro lens, not a used one off an older mask.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same mask as the original i3?
Not a reissue of the old tooling. DYE describe it as deliberately rebuilt rather than reinterpreted — the shape and the coverage that made the i3 what it was, on current materials and current lens construction.

Can I put my old i3 lenses in it?
No. DYE are explicit that earlier-generation i3 lenses no longer meet current safety standards and should not be installed in this goggle. Replacements are the i3 Pro thermal lenses.

Does the lens fog?
It is a thermally formed dual-pane lens, which is the construction that resists fogging by keeping a sealed air gap between two panes. No lens is immune if you take it off and breathe on it mid-game, but this is the anti-fog build rather than a single pane.

How does it compare to the i4 and i5?
Different shape and different priority. The DYE i4 and DYE i5 are low-profile masks built around a slim footprint; the i3 Pro is the full-coverage design with a softer lower half. Try both if you can — face shape decides it more than spec does.

What else do you sell for it?
Lenses are listed separately. The rest of our masks and visors sit in eye protection and face protection.
