DYE i4 Mask Foam Kit

Mask foam has a working life and it is shorter than the shell’s. Sweat, sun cream and repeated compression break down the cell structure until the foam no longer springs back, and once it stops springing back it stops sealing. A mask that has started letting light in at the cheekbones is not a mask you have outgrown, it is a mask that needs this.

DYE supply the i4 set as replacement inner foam with the adhesive to install it. It is a bonded foam rather than the tool-free cartridge used on the later i5, so set aside a quiet twenty minutes, get the old foam and its residue fully off, and dry-fit before you commit any glue.

How do I know when my foam needs replacing?
Press it with a thumb and let go. If it stays dented rather than coming back, it is done. The other tell is daylight at the top of the cheekbone when the mask is strapped properly.

Is the glue included?
Yes — DYE supply the adhesive with the kit, so you do not need to source a contact adhesive separately.

Does this fit the i4 Pro as well?
Yes. The Pro is the same mask body with a different strap, so the i4 Pro takes this set too.

Will it fit an i5?
No. The i5 uses a quick-release foam cartridge that comes out without tools — that is the i5 foam kit.

How long will the new foam last?
That depends entirely on how often you play and how much you sweat into it. Rinsing the mask foam in cool water after a hot day and drying it out of direct sun buys you a lot of extra life.
