Licensed by Umarex, built by VFC, and lighter than the real thing. The MP7A1 is the personal defence weapon that found its way into special forces inventories worldwide, and this is the officially licensed replica of it — a true 1:1 scale gun at 1.829kg.

What makes this version worth picking out is who makes it. Umarex hold the Heckler & Koch licence, and VFC do the manufacturing, which means you get the correct trademarks on a gun built to the standard VFC apply to their own gas blowbacks. On recoil and reliability it stands comparison with the KWA and Tokyo Marui versions of the same weapon rather than sitting below them.

The format is the point. A PDW is meant to be carried by someone whose main job is not shooting, so everything folds, collapses or sits flush: a fully extendable stock, an integrated foregrip, and iron sights with two settings — folded flat for a low profile, or raised to a conventional rifle sight picture. The controls work from either side.

Weight is where it surprises people. At 1.829kg it is lighter than the real MP7A1, which for a gas gun is unusual — most replicas end up heavier than their originals, not lighter.

Good to know

The muzzle thread is 11mm clockwise, not the 14mm counter-clockwise that most airsoft guns use. If you already own MP7 accessories for a different maker's version, check the thread before assuming they transfer.

A 40-round gas magazine is a real-capacity-adjacent figure rather than an airsoft hi-cap, so plan your loadout around reloading rather than around running one magazine all game.

Frequently asked questions

Who actually makes it? VFC build it under licence from Umarex, who hold the Heckler & Koch trademarks. You get the correct markings and VFC's gas blowback engineering.

How does it compare to other MP7 replicas? On recoil and reliability it is a genuine alternative to the KWA and Tokyo Marui versions rather than a budget stand-in.

What thread is the muzzle? 11mm clockwise. That is unusual, so check any muzzle device or tracer unit will fit before ordering.

Is it a rifle or a pistol? Neither, strictly. It is a personal defence weapon — stocked and selective-fire, but sized and weighted closer to a large pistol.

💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: Gas PDWs run through magazines quickly because the capacity is modest. Spares and green gas are the first two purchases — start with gas.
