The reason this exists is nozzle travel. An AEG moves its nozzle around 7.8 mm, and GBB and VSR buckings were never designed for that — they want far more. GATE designed the engine and the chamber together around 14 mm of travel, which is what finally makes those buckings behave properly in an assault rifle or a DMR shell. Bolting an existing HPA engine onto a VSR chamber does not get you there, because neither the travel nor the geometry match.
The two halves join by a QD collar that holds the nozzle on the chamber axis, and the assembly floats rather than being clamped to the receiver, so a gearbox or receiver that is slightly out of true has less influence on where the BB ends up. The nozzle is POM, cut to a length matched to the chamber at the factory, which removes the usual job of working out which nozzle length your chamber wants.
It is a single-valve open-bolt design, so the first pull fires a BB rather than spending a cycle charging. GATE quote up to 50 rounds per second given suitable electronics settings, air supply and magazine feed, and say air consumption is improved on the PULSAR S2 V31. Every engine is tested individually at their range at 40 metres, with impact coordinates measured and start-up checked at low and high pressure before it is cleared to ship.
Pick your gearbox version and whether you want control electronics in the set. Every configuration includes the EON VSR chamber and a Maple Leaf AUTOBOT bucking; the ASTER II sets add the control unit, and the V2 ASTER II sets add a Quantum Trigger 2 as well. If you already run a TITAN II or ASTER II for V2, take the version without electronics and keep the unit you have.

What each configuration includes
Five sets. The engine itself is identical across all of them; what changes is the chamber cut for your gearbox and whether control electronics come with it.

Good to know before you buy
Budget for a VSR barrel. This is the one that catches people. The chamber takes a VSR barrel and nothing else, so if your rifle is running an AEG barrel today it is not coming with you. Decide on a length at the same time as you reserve the set.
The bucking is a choice, not a fixed part. An AUTOBOT 60° comes in the box, which is a sensible middle ground, but the whole point of the design is that you can fit GBB and VSR profiles. Match the profile and hardness to your BB weight rather than leaving the supplied one in by default.
Fitting is workshop work. A drop-in engine still means stripping the gearbox, routing a loom and setting the chamber up. We fit, wire and programme GATE engines through the HPA tech service if you would rather it arrived ready to chrono.
On pre-order timing. GATE have given a dispatch window, not a date, and a whole order travels with the HUSAR part of it. If you need something else from us before the winter, order it separately rather than adding it to this.
Frequently asked questions
Why would I want GBB or VSR buckings in an AEG?
Those profiles grip the BB over a longer surface and are the usual route to tighter grouping in sniper builds. Until now the travel in an AEG platform was too short to use them properly; the 14 mm figure here is what changes that.
Is this a replacement for the PULSAR S or the PULSAR D?
It sits alongside them rather than above them. The PULSAR S and PULSAR D run a conventional AEG chamber and barrel. HUSAR is the one to pick when the goal is accuracy from a VSR bucking.
Which one do I order if I already have an ASTER II?
The version without control electronics for your gearbox. You keep the unit and the trigger you already run, and the set is cheaper for it.
Does the V3 set come with a Quantum Trigger?
No. The Quantum Trigger 2 is a V2 part, so it is in the two V2 ASTER II sets only. The V3 ASTER II set includes the control unit alone.
What rate of fire will I actually see?
GATE quote a ceiling of 50 rounds per second. Whether you reach it depends on your electronics settings, how much air you can deliver and whether the magazine can feed that fast, so treat the number as a maximum rather than a promise.
When will it ship, exactly?
GATE have published a window rather than a date, and we will not know better than they do until the first consignment moves. We will keep you posted rather than guess at it.
