Arcturus call it the world's first HPA replica series to ship from the factory with a pre-installed PULSAR D engine, and that is the whole proposition. For anyone used to buying a gun, an engine and an FCU separately and then making them agree with each other, a rifle that arrives built is a genuinely different thing to own.
The PULSAR D is a dual-solenoid, closed-bolt engine, configurable to run open-bolt instead. Closed-bolt means a BB is already seated in the hop when the trigger breaks, so there is no nozzle travel and no feeding pause before it leaves. Two solenoids mean the loading and firing strokes are controlled independently, which is what gives the app such fine control over dwell and rate of fire.
GATE rate the engine at 60 to 140 PSI with velocity from 250 to 650 FPS on a 0.20g BB depending on barrel and BB weight, and rate of fire adjustable from 1 to 40 RPS with no velocity drop on auto relative to semi. They also publish its efficiency: roughly 0.7 PSI per shot at 90 PSI on a 0.8 litre cylinder, which is what makes it worth running rather than just interesting.
TITAN II Bluetooth is the other half. The GCS app gives you binary trigger, programmable burst, semi-ramping and trigger sensitivity down to fifty points of resolution in the first millimetre of travel, all changeable on the firing line. The gun also has functional bolt-catch sensing and a magazine-removed lockout, so the realism is in the hardware rather than painted on.
The rest is Arcturus. An aluminium alloy receiver, an 8-inch M-LOK handguard, their RS reinforced polymer rotary hop unit, and a 30 or 130 round variable-capacity windowed magazine in the box with a set of ABUS folding back-up sights.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to build anything? No. The engine and the FCU are installed at the factory, so what you add is a tank, a regulator, an airline and a battery for the FCU.
What pressure does it run at? GATE rate the PULSAR D at 60 to 140 PSI. Set your regulator inside that and chrono at the site, because velocity moves with pressure, barrel and BB weight.
What does binary trigger mode do? It fires once on the pull and once on the release. It is one of several modes in the GCS app, along with programmable burst and semi-ramping, and site rules vary on whether it is allowed.
Which battery does it take? GATE do not publish a required voltage, chemistry or connector for this rifle, and no battery is supplied. Ask us before you buy one rather than guessing — fitting the wrong pack to an FCU is an expensive mistake.
How efficient is it? GATE publish about 0.7 PSI per shot at 90 PSI on a 0.8 litre cylinder, which is good for a dual-solenoid engine. Your own figure will depend on your pressure and your rate of fire.
Is this the same as the AEG version? No. Arcturus make the Alpha in both AEG and HPA, and they are different guns internally. This is the HPA one, with the PULSAR D and TITAN II fitted.
