An actual stamped steel AK, running HPA. Wolverine built the AK-105 on an authentic stamped receiver set rather than a machined block, and aligned it with a CNC aluminium and steel trunnion and engine chassis. INFERNO XTS with the BLINC Bluetooth FCU.

Making an AK work on HPA is harder than making an M4 work, because an AK receiver is a folded steel shell with a riveted trunnion rather than a precisely machined tube. Wolverine's answer was a patent-pending trunnion and engine chassis in CNC aluminium and steel, which carries the alignment the engine needs inside a receiver that is genuinely stamped.

So what you get is an AK that handles like one. The stamped receiver carries the classic WA logo, the front end is AK-105 pattern, the hop, trigger and front sight post are all adjustable, and there is a Picatinny rear sight rail if you want an optic on it. The feed tube is stainless steel.

Pay attention to the thread, because it is the one place this gun will catch you out. Wolverine specify 24mm on the muzzle, not the 14mm the M4 range uses. A 14mm tracer or suppressor from your other gun will not fit, and an AK-pattern device is what you need.

The pressure window is different too. Wolverine give 60 to 160 PSI input for the AK-105, which is wider at both ends than the 80 to 140 the M4 guns use. The engine is the INFERNO XTS, and the BLINC Bluetooth FCU for MTW AK puts rate of fire, dwell, burst and saved profiles on your phone, with programmable magazine capacity and simulated empty-mag detection through the charging handle.

It is also the heaviest gun in the range at 6.1lb, which is honest for a steel-receiver AK and part of why it feels right.

Frequently asked questions

Will my 14mm tracer fit? No. This gun is 24mm on the muzzle, which is AK pattern rather than M4. Message us with what you own and we will tell you whether there is an adapter for it.

Why is the pressure window different? Wolverine publish 60 to 160 PSI for the AK-105 against 80 to 140 for the M4 guns. Stay inside the figure for the gun in front of you and chrono it either way.

Are the handguards interchangeable with AEG AKs? Wolverine specify LCT-spec for the handguard and the selector switch, so an arbitrary AK AEG handguard is not guaranteed. Ask before you buy one.

How does the empty-mag detection work without MTW magazines? It is simulated. You set the magazine capacity in the BLINC app and the gun counts, with a functional charging handle to reset it. Wolverine describe the feature as beta.

Is 6.1lb too heavy? It is the heaviest gun Wolverine make on this platform, and that is what a stamped steel AK weighs. If you want light, the MTW-9 is less than half of it.

Can I run a recoil stock on it? A QUAKE is listed as compatible with an adapter line. Ask us first so the right parts go in the same order.
