Milspec+ is a Daniel Defense term rather than an airsoft one. On their rifles it denotes their own grip and stock in place of the standard parts, and a corresponding finish. Carrying that onto an MTW means the gun wears the furniture the real article wears, under the same licence that puts the trades on the receiver.
The gun under it is a Forged MTW with the EMG and Daniel Defense licensing applied. Both receivers are real forged 7075, the lower carrying CNC-cut markings and the upper laser-engraved ones, with an ambidextrous selector on steel paddles and a T5 curved trigger. Empty-mag detection and the bolt release work when you run Wolverine magazines.
Power comes from an INFERNO Gen 2 paired to the Spartan board, which is the version with no app involved at all. Eight rate-of-fire presets and twelve dwell presets are stepped through on the gun itself, and an optical sensor reads the selector position. Nothing to pair and nothing to update.
A 285mm inner barrel inside a 10.3-inch outer puts it at MK18 length, which is the short end of a carbine rather than a dedicated CQB gun — long enough to shoot a field with, short enough to work a building.

Frequently asked questions
What does Milspec+ mean? It is Daniel Defense's own name for their upgraded furniture package, used on their real rifles. On this gun it means the grip and stock are the Daniel Defense parts rather than generic ones.
Is this the same gun as the RIS III? Same licence and the same Forged MTW underneath. The difference is the handguard and the furniture package, so pick on how you want it to look and handle.
How do I set it up without an app? On the gun. The Spartan board holds eight rate-of-fire presets and twelve dwell presets, selected with the trigger and the selector, and reads the selector optically.
What aftermarket parts fit it? Real-steel AR grips, stocks, buffer tubes and sling plates, plus the MTW-Spec range of engines, boards, hop bodies and inner barrels.
