The current engine on a forged receiver, with no app in the way. An INFERNO XTS running on the Spartan control board. You get the extended-stroke engine and set it from the gun rather than from a phone.

The INFERNO XTS is the engine Wolverine build now. Its poppet and nozzle are independent and extended-stroke, so the seal against the hop is better, the baffle is Delrin machined as a single piece, and three optional flow reducers let you trim airflow when you are down at low energy or feeding high input pressure.

Pairing it with the Spartan board instead of a BLINC is a quieter way to own the same engine. The Spartan is a single all-in-one trigger board and FCU with an optical select-fire sensor, and it holds eight rate-of-fire presets and twelve dwell presets that you step through on the gun. Nothing to pair, nothing to update, nothing to lose signal with.

The receiver is the Forged set — real AR-15 forgings machined to MTW spec, which is where the forward assist, the spring-loaded charging handle, the ambidextrous steel-paddle selector and the removable trigger guard come from. The hop unit is metal, and empty-mag detection works with the bolt catch on Wolverine magazines.

At ten inches with a 285mm inner barrel it sits in the most useful part of the range: short enough for buildings, long enough for woodland, and the length Wolverine publish their XTS efficiency figures against.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the Spartan over a BLINC? If you set your gun up once and leave it, the Spartan does everything you need and there is no app, no pairing and no firmware. If you change profiles between sites, the BLINC is the better tool.

Can I add a QUAKE recoil stock? The XTS has the recoil port the QUAKE needs, so yes in principle. Ask us before ordering so we can check the stock and airline parts against your build.

What are the flow reducers for? They restrict airflow inside the XTS nozzle so you can feed the engine a higher input pressure without the output energy going up with it. Useful at low joule limits.

How do I set the rate of fire without an app? Through the board's presets on the gun. The Spartan holds eight rate-of-fire settings and twelve dwell settings, stepped through with the selector and trigger.

Is this the same engine as the XB models? Yes, the same INFERNO XTS. The difference between this and an XB is the control board, not the engine.
