The MTW Forged Series begins not from a block of aluminium, but from real AR-15 forgings — the same starting material used to manufacture genuine M4/AR-15 receiver sets. Each Forged receiver goes through an identical process to a real firearm receiver: forged blanks are precisely machined to Wolverine's MTW-Spec tolerances, which include a spring-loaded charging handle, fully functional forward assist, and working dust cover. The resulting receiver has the exact visual contours of a real AR-15 lower and upper — the flats, curves, and machining marks that CNC billet simply cannot replicate.
The functional performance difference between Billet and Forged is zero — same INFERNO engine, same Intrinsic Alignment, same MTW-Spec compatibility. The Forged is for players who want the most realistic external aesthetic achievable on an airsoft rifle. It's also slightly heavier than the Billet, which some players find adds to the authentic feel.
The SI designation on this Forged build indicates it ships with the INFERNO XTS engine rather than the standard Gen 2 — the extended stroke, stainless nozzle, and Delrin baffle version that delivers improved shot consistency and more forgiving dwell tuning. This is a higher-specification Forged build for players who want the XTS without the full XBR package — BLINC and QUAKE are not included, keeping the build cleaner and lighter if you don't need wireless control or recoil.
